Top Hat Robot is the movie review and criticism blog of Katherine Elmore, a graduate of the Film and Video program at Georgia State University and current MFA student in Creative Producing at Columbia College Chicago. My film tastes are skewed in favor of science fiction, suspenseful thrillers, superhero movies, off-the-wall comedies, character focused documentaries, and films so bad they come back around to delightfully watchable. I am much less likely to enjoy horror movies and romances than the general public, though films from both genres are included in my favorites. I obsess over good cinematography, cry over bad editing, and have far too many opinions about movies adapted from books. Outside of talking endlessly about movies, I also love sociology, Japanese culture, anything from Britain, history, dogs, Harry Potter, and, shockingly, adorable pictures of robots.
Even though I can’t rank them, some of my favorite movies include Some Like it Hot, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, V For Vendetta, Cloud Atlas, Edward Scissorhands, and The King’s Speech. I have loved every movie directed by Edgar Wright, and am a little bit obsessed with the Marvel Movie Universe.
